Florida Steel Guitar Club

The Florida Steel Guitar Club was founded in July, 2002 by Jack Stoner, Blake Hawkins and Don Sulesky.  The club's first Meeting and Jam was held on September 11, 2002.  Actual discussions were initiated by Jack Stoner in 1997 with Don and Blake about forming a club but we did not have a suitable meeting place until I negotiated the free use of Catfish Johnny's Restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee, Fl, in 2002.

The Club is an Informal (Unincorporated), non-profit and non dues, Association formed  to promote the Steel Guitar and to provide an exchange of information between Steel Guitarists.  Any Club business or inquires should be referred to Jack Stoner or Don Sulesky

Monthly meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month. A big part of the monthly Club meeting is the Steel Guitar Jam.  The jam is primarily traditional country and skill level is not an issue.  Click the Monthly Meeting Page button at the left for information on the current month's meeting/jam.  Meetings are open to the public.  We usually have several singers, but that is limited as the primary objective is a Steel Guitar Jam and instrumentals.    There is a backup band, no rhythm tracks are used.

The Monthly Meeting/Jam Report is also on-line.  Click the Monthly Meeting Report Button at the left to access the current month's report.  This is the same information that is e-mailed to members.

The meetings are held at Catfish Johnny's Restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee, Fl.  Click the Location button on the left side of this page for information and a map showing Catfish Johnny's location.

The Club Web page is currently maintained on Jack Stoner's "Gulf Coast Steel Guitar" personal web site.
